Church Road subway CCTV to be installed

Highways engineers have confirmed that the long-awaited installation of a CCTV security system at the Church Road subway will take place next week.
CCTV infrastructure was installed in September, with works to level the steps completed and new anti-cycling barriers also erected earlier this year. However the most recent delay in the installation of the town system was owing to a poor electrical connection to the subway, according to the contractor.
The installation of the CCTV is part of a wider regeneration of the subway area, which links Church Road to Watford Junction via Bridal path footway. This includes new railings, deep cleaning of the walls and footpath, installation of energy efficient LED lighting and tree planting.
