From the Doorstep to County Hall – Standing Up for Watford

Watford Liberal Democrats

Your Watford Liberal Democrats team have been out knocking on doors, listening to residents’ concerns, and sharing why we believe we’re the best choice for Watford in the upcoming County Council elections.

Peter Taylor, candidate for Central Watford and Oxhey, said: "It’s been really good to be out chatting with residents across the town ahead of the county council elections. With the government’s decision to abolish all district councils, including Watford Council, I’ve decided to stand in these elections.

“My top priority is making sure Watford has a strong influence in shaping these new arrangements. Our town’s identity and priorities must not be lost in a larger unitary council as we face ongoing uncertainty about the future.

“I will also be fighting hard for improved public transport, better support for local school children, and to end the county’s scandalous neglect of our roads and pavements. For decades the county council has been led by Conservative politicians – it is now time for a change of direction.”

In these elections the Watford Liberal Democrats’ priorities are:

✅ Fighting for Watford General hospital to be rebuilt

✅Fixing our roads and pavements

✅Protecting our local environment

✅Giving our children the best start
