Local Family Receive Mayor's Community Award
Watford Mayor, Peter Taylor, has presented a local family with a special community award for raising money for the Watford Foodbank.
After receiving quite a lot of Easter eggs, four children in the Boswell family decided to melt down the eggs, make them into tray bakes and sell them to their neighbours in North Watford. They raised £40 and donated this to Watford Foodbank. This was all their own idea.
Mayor Peter Taylor said, “It was great to meet the family and thank the children for doing this. They are clearly extremely thoughtful and demonstrated fantastic care for the local community by raising money for the Watford Foodbank, who do so much to help families in need in Watford. It is good to be able to recognise acts of kindness such as this, that can sometimes go unnoticed.”
