Mayor of Watford and Lib Dem Councillor Push for Solutions to Train Service and Capacity Issues at Local Stations

Following a meeting between Watford Mayor Peter Taylor and Liberal Democrat Councillor Ian Stotesbury, rail bosses have promised newer trains and greater capacity on train services between Watford and London Euston.
This comes as Watford Junction and Bushey station commuters have faced increased capacity issues on several occasions for the past year.
Discussions covered the condition of the forecourt and entrance to the station, ongoing train service and capacity issues, as well as the introduction of new trains set to arrive in Autumn 2025. These improvements are expected to enhance the overall commuter experience and address the growing demand for reliable services.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, welcomed the news saying: "Residents regularly contact me about train services, particularly if there are delays, cancellations or overcrowding. I know how important it is to have reliable train services locally. We must ensure improvements to local services.
“During our constructive chat with London Northwestern Railway, we covered their ongoing efforts and improvements plans for the rest of the year. I will keep pressing London Northwestern Railway to ensure they deliver on these improvements.”
