New Trees Planted
Watford Borough Council are currently in the process of planting a record number of street trees in Watford, and there’s eleven trees earmarked for Stanborough ward, whilst Tim Williams has also funded a further ten trees from his County Council Locality budget with number for St Albans Road to protect and enhance the much-loved avenue of trees for future generations.
Residents can now suggest locations for new trees directly to the council, allowing more people to benefit from greener streets and cleaner air.
Street tree requests can be submitted throughout the year at Tree Planting.
Cllr Tim Williams, said: "Trees provide numerous benefits to our physical and mental health, and street trees in particular can create a sense of connection and community."
The tree planting is part of the council's objectives to plant 20,000 trees over the next four years, and this aim is on target following two tree giveaways this year, with 10,000 in February and 4,000 in December.
