Parking patrols stepped up at Grandfield and Holy Rood
The council’s parking teams have asked wardens to step patrols at trouble spots around Nascot, in response to requests from your local councillors.
Inconsiderate parking during pick-up and drop-off times near Holy Rood school, including the blocking of some residents’ driveways on adjacent Lebanon Close,– as pictured by local resident David Pearce on social media – prompted Nascot ward councillor Mark Hofman to request an increase in patrols during busy periods
In response, the council’s parking team confirmed that, as of late November, there had been 24 enforcement visits since the start of the new school term. The team arranged for the coverage to be increased through early December.
A spokesperson for the parking team confirmed. “The team are in discussion with the Police regarding carrying out some joint patrols around schools to try and highlight the message to new parents so this area will be added to the any future Police partnership programme agreed,”
Separately, an ad hoc increase in patrols at the request of Councillor Tom Osborn on Grandfield Avenue has been welcomed by residents, to prevent nuisance parking on double-yellow lines.
Residents say the issue of delivery vans and lorries parking on bends in particular at this time of year has damaged pavements and kerb-stones. County Councillor Mark Watkin is attempting to secure funding for bollards to be added to the end of Grandfield Avenue to prevent parking on bends in future.
