Skip day success
Dozens of residents took part in a community skip day organised on Lebanon Close by Nascot councillors on Saturday, 10 March.
The skip day saw residents working with councillors to clear their unwanted household waste to improve the local environment and reduce fly-tipping.
A council contractor delivered the skip early in the morning and a steady stream of locals from the Greenbanks estate and surrounding areas filled the skip with their unwanted household items within just two hours.
Councillor Mark Hofman said: “The Nascot skip day was a great opportunity for the council and the community to come together and take action. By cleaning up our estates and homes, we are not only improving the appearance of our neighbourhoods, but also reducing our impact on the local environment.
“I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time and effort, and I encourage others to let us know of locations around the ward where we can hold similar events in the future.”
